Surviving and reversing type 2 diabetes
If you or someone you know is type 2 diabetic, you are not alone. Here are the numbers affected:
UK:5 million|USA:28 million|China:109 million|In Malaysia,25%of the entire adult population is type 2 diabetic.
The good news is that in most cases, type 2 diabetes is reversible.Listening to this podcast can help you achieve that.
When you are first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, the doctor will give you a number. That number is your HBA1C score. With type 2 diabetes,a high score is not a good score.
A score between 42-48 is considered pre-diabetic,which is not ideal.Over 48 means you are diabetic and you are ill.You need to aim for a low score. If you want to live a long and fulfilling life, make reducing your HBA1C number a top priority.
A high HBA1C number massively increases the chances of having a heart attack,a stroke, developing kidney or liver problems, gout, heart disease, dementia, and even having parts of the body amputated. The list of potential complications from type 2 diabetes is extensive.
When I was first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes,I was told I would have to take medication for life. But this was not!0.There was zero faith and no suggestion that type 2 diabetes could be reversed.
One year later,I had reduced my HBA1C number from 84 to 38—a complete reversal. It can be done.My doctor asked me how I reversed my condition. He could not believe it.That was when I decided to make this podcast.
My message to you or anyone watching who may be affected is this:developing type 2 diabetes is not the end.It is reversible in many cases, and in cases where it is not reversible, reduction of symptoms most certainly is.
What I aim to do in this series is pass on the knowledge of how I reversed my condition so that you,if you wish to do so,can apply this to your life.Start your reversal today.

Avoid these foods to reverse type 2 diabetes.

Welcome to episode 3 of the Type2Survivor.com podcast.
Surviving and reversing type 2 diabetes.
Bad food is making us ill.Slowly but surely,it is happening.
What is bad food?Bad food is high in sugar, high in fat, heavily processed,or all three.Navigating the path to reversing type 2 diabetes means avoiding bad food so you can live longer.
Let’s break it down:
Examples of heavily processed foods include ready meals,oven-ready or microwave meals.Put simply, any food that looks nothing like how it started off in life is heavily processed.
For example,a potato is unprocessed—it looks the same coming out of the ground as it does in the shop. However, potato crisps start as potatoes but are then chopped, cooked, and mixed with flavorings and preservatives. These steps make them processed.
As a rule of thumb, the more processed food is,the less nutritional value it has and the more dangerous it becomes. This is because processed foods often contain empty calories—calories that provide almost no nutrition. When our bodies lack proper nutrition,we become ill.
The journey to reversing type 2 diabetes involves avoiding two main types of food.
The first type is high-sugar foods.
Anything over 5%sugar per 100 grams should be considered high sugar.Anything over 10%should raise a red flag on your shopping list. Some chocolate bars contain as much as 60%sugar.Chocolate,sweets,and anything sweet-tasting in general should be avoided.
The second type is high-fat foods.
Approach anything displaying over 10%fat with caution and avoid it if possible.Saturated fat is especially bad unless it occurs naturally in food, such as in peanuts.Unprocessed peanuts contain natural saturated fats but are still relatively healthy.
Examples of high-fat foods include pasties, pies, crisps, and cakes.Anything made with pastry is usually high in fat.
You may be thinking,“This is going to be hard.” The truth is,it will be hard.Nobody ever said this was going to be easy, but you have the power to make a change and improve the quality of your life.
There’s good news—the longer you maintain these habits, the easier it becomes.
Type2Survivor.com offers a service to help you navigate this journey if you’re short on time.To find out more, visit the site and click on services.
Now that you know the foods to avoid,in episode 4 you’ll learn how to easily research the foods you buy—a crucial step in your journey to better health.

Reverse Type 2 Diabetes naturally

Welcome to episode 4 of the Type2Survivor.com podcast.
Surviving and reversing type 2 diabetes.
Eliminating bad food is the key to a better you.Remember, your health is your pension.Don’t be the richest person in the graveyard.
Finding the bad food you eat is easy. All the information is readily available.Type2Survivor.com can do this for you if you are short of time.Simply click on services on the website.
How you can do it yourself for free:
Go to a supermarket website, such as Sainsburys.co.uk.Search for an item you often buy.For example, type “Heinz Baked Beans” in the search box and click the magnifier icon.
Click on the single can option and scroll down to the nutrition table.Check the amount of sugar, fat, and salt per 100 grams:
- Sugar:4.7 grams per 100 grams
- Fat:0.2 grams per 100 grams
- Salt:0.6 grams per 100 grams
Using simple math,we can say that sugar is 4.7%,and fat and salt are below 1%.Ignoring preservatives and additives, this food would not be on my danger list.
In part 2,I show you how to calculate sugar levels in liquids. You may be surprised at how much sugar is in everyday products.
Welcome back.
Now,let’s check a drink.Type “orange juice” in the supermarket website’s search box and click on a product.
The juice I selected has 10 grams of sugar per 100ml.That’s 10%.I would approach this with caution, limiting intake to one or two glasses per week. Some juices contain up to 30%sugar,making them a red-flag item.
Fruit contains natural sugar called fructose, which is initially digested in your liver.A list of lower-sugar fruits is available for download on Type2Survivor.com.
A word of caution on sugar calculations:
The density of a product affects the accuracy of sugar percentage calculations.Food labeling regulations do not require companies to adjust for density—this is all done on trust.
In part 3,I provide an easy-to-follow guide on which foods to red-flag and avoid.
Welcome back.
Foods with 5%or lower sugar and under 10%fat are generally safe for everyday consumption.High sugar, high fat,and salt over 5%are red flags.
Applying this model is up to you. This information is for display purposes only.As a disclaimer,I must note that it worked for me—I reversed my type 2 diabetes in a year, lowering my score from 84 to 38,then to 30 the following year.
Steps to apply this model:
- Review every food item you bought last week.
- Check fat and sugar content online.
- Make a new shopping list with only low-sugar,low-fat items.
This is the start of your new lifestyle and the main road to greatness.Combine this with daily walking—even just 10 minutes—and you’re on the Type2Survivor.com path.
Looking good and feeling better every day.

Episode 5:
Understanding Carbohydrates.
Watch VideoListen to Podcast
In episode 4,we explored the sugar and fat levels hidden in the foods we eat every day.
Understanding nutrition charts is a powerful tool in the fight against type 2 diabetes. The right knowledge can help us make better choices and even reverse the condition.
Now,let’s take a closer look at food groups—specifically, the ones that are harming your health the most.
Carbohydrates,or carbs, play a major role in type 2 diabetes.Cutting down on them is essential if you want to regain control of your health.
Foods like rice, pasta, bread, and potatoes might seem harmless, but they break down into glucose in your body. And here’s the hard truth—glucose is sugar, and sugar kills.
Could eating too many carbs be the reason you—or someone you love—developed type 2 diabetes? The answer is likely yes.
If you want to live longer and feel better, this has to change. The road won’t be easy, but you have the power to turn things around.
Not all carbs are created equal. There are two types:simple carbs and complex carbs.
Simple carbs digest quickly, flooding your body with sugar and causing blood sugar spikes. The rush feels good—but it doesn’t last. The crash comes just as fast, leaving you craving more.
Complex carbs,on the other hand, break down more slowly. They provide steady energy without the rollercoaster of highs and lows.
Some of the worst offenders?White bread, white rice, pasta, and potatoes. These simple carbs do your body no favors.
Choosing brown or wholemeal versions of bread, pasta, and rice is a better option. They’re still carbs, but at least they’re more complex.
The best strategy?Reduce your carb intake as much as possible. And when you do eat them, make it count—opt for complex carbs.
Timing matters, too.Carbs are best eaten in the morning or before midday. This gives your body enough time to process them and use the energy throughout the day.
But if you keep loading up on simple carbs, your chances of reversing type 2 diabetes shrink dramatically.
Remember—your health is your greatest investment.Take care of it now,so you can enjoy life for years to come.
Now,let’s talk about another food group to watch out for—red meat.
Red meat is high in fat, cholesterol, and, according to recent research,it may even increase your risk of cancer.
Processed red meat is even worse.Foods like sausage, bacon, salami, canned meat, and corned beef have long been linked to serious health risks.
If you’re serious about reversing diabetes and protecting your health, cutting down on red meat is a crucial step.
Change isn’t easy—but if you truly want to heal,it’s a must.
Episode 6:
Fruit and Type 2 diabetes.
Watch VideoListen to Podcast
Advice to eat fruit and vegetables as part of a healthy lifestyle has been around forever.
The problem is fruit contains sugar, and sugar is our enemy.
It’s no surprise that many drink fruit juice in the belief it is healthy.
Here’s the numbers:
On average, one portion of orange juice contains 14%of the daily recommended maximum sugar intake. There are around five portions in a carton,so drinking the whole carton means you're 70%sugared up—that’s without consuming anything else at all.
Navigating the path to a better you means avoiding sugar. As a rule,it may be wise to stop consuming fruit juice altogether.
Moving on to fruit itself,we find a list of known high-sugar fruits:
Grapes(16%),Lychees(15%),Mangoes(14%),Pomegranates(14%),Cherries(13%),Bananas(12%).
Sugar in fruit is naturally occurring, but it still contributes to blood sugar spikes.
Remember, you can find the high-sugar fruit list and much more in the downloads section ofType2survivor.com.
If you have listened to the Type2survivor.com podcast from the start and in episode order, you now have a good idea of what to look out for and avoid in food.
If you struggled to take it all in,go back and listen to them all again because eating the right foods is the most important single factor in reversing type 2 diabetes.
You may find it hard to adapt, but this is the start of a brand new, healthier you.
In Episode 7,find out about sacrifice and sabotage, and the power of the mind that helps us make change.
You have the power to make a change and a great new lifestyle to look forward to.

Sacrifice and Sabotage
Type2survivor.com– Reversing Type 2 diabetes and feeling better every day.
You or someone you know has a problem. It’s called Type 2 diabetes.
The condition is often the result of another problem called food addiction.
Society is addicted to sugar-laden food.
Navigating the path to better health requires sacrifice.
You need to sacrifice some of the things you may enjoy.
In the main, this means quitting smoking, drinking alcohol and fizzy drinks, and avoiding fast and processed foods.
It also means taking the time to exercise regularly.
The changes you need to make are not temporary—they are for life.
That is why we call it lifestyle change.
If you return to your old ways, even after reversing Type 2 diabetes,it will come back.
Remember, you have the power to make change and live to see a brighter day.
Diets do not work long term.
Eating less for a short time may help with weight loss, but if you return to normal habits, the weight comes back.
You must adopt lifestyle change, not a diet.Think long term—think forever.
Fluctuating weight can actually trigger Type 2 diabetes in the first place.
It puts strain on your entire body—from your heart and kidneys to your lungs, hips, and lower back.
The more weight you carry, the harder your body has to work.
Think of it this way:a small engine in a small car works fine.
Put that same engine into a bigger car,and it begins to struggle.
Remember, the sacrifices you make to improve your health need to continue forever.
Everyone is different, and the key to success may be quitting one bad habit at a time and gradually eliminating others.
Why not make a list of things you need to quit and prioritize them?
Give up one thing at a time and check it off the list.
Too much sacrifice all at once increases the risk of sabotage—you may feel overwhelmed and give up.
Don’t give up on giving up.

Work Hard,Play Hard – But at What Cost?
🌅 From the depths of darkness to glorious light –Type2survivor.com
If you work hard and drink alcohol, there’s a strong chance you’ll end up drinking more than you otherwise would.
“Work hard, play hard” is a celebrated term.
But did you know that heavy drinking can actually be a sign of burnout?
We shouldn’t reasonably be working more than**38 hours a week**.
If you work excessive hours,it will catch up with you.Long term,it is not sustainable.
What does this have to do with Type 2 diabetes?
To compensate for the lack of time and energy after work, two things often happen:
1️⃣ Drinking happens more often and in greater volume.
2️⃣ A reliance on junk and convenience food.
The result?**Sugar&fat overload**,increasing the risk of Type 2 diabetes.
Something else happens too:
Drinking hard and eating a poor diet stresses the entire body.
You drink at night and start the next day with your body and mind still in recovery.
A poor diet makes your body work harder because it lacks the nutrients needed to function correctly.
Consequently, work becomes harder to cope with, and you become less efficient.
To compensate, you work longer hours—then have another drink in the evening to cope with the stress.
🔄 And so begins the cycle:**Work hard → Drink hard → Eat poorly → Develop Type 2 diabetes.**
**If this sounds familiar, remember you are not alone. You have the power to change.**
It starts with recognizing the problem and deciding to face it head-on.
💡**Check out the Type 2 diabetes symptoms list**in the downloads section ofType2survivor.com.Share it with friends and colleagues—especially those who work hard and play hard.
